Eat and Shop Tour

With this enlightening and really satisfying tour, you’ll be able to get in some very rewarding sightseeing of the Garfagnana area, as you’ll sample the authentic cuisine from this land’s highly respected traditional offerings. Our very special visit to a textile workshop where lovely scarves and other textiles are produced using traditional hand weaving looms, is certain to be a memorable  highlight.

We depart Lucca around 11.00 A.M. for the walled town of Castelnuovo. After having leisurely strolled the lovely environs of this beautiful middle ages fortress, we’ll stop in a typical out-of-the way “Osteria” serving authentic, traditional Tuscan country cuisine made with fresh local ingredients. Then, at we consider “just the right moment” , we’ll enter the cherished realm of a unique  weaving company, where you’ll be transported back to the 12th Century by witnessing the very old production of techniques, but also the newest technology. Conversation with workers, through our translation, is an “extra” that is rarely afforded to tourist.

And all of this will be conducted in a tranquil setting with an unhurried pace…exclusively in the privacy of our group.
